[BC] GREAT Article and comments about Leonard

I agree with him too. Even his comments about Leonard Kahn. I've visited
with Leonard Kahn a couple of times about several things including the old
Symmetra-Peak (I still have one!) and his ideas on stereo. He is a little
eccentric, I guess. So were other great folks. I now believe that if the
FCC had left well enough alone, even though most of us were saying they
should step in and "define a standard," that the Kahn AM stereo system would
be alive and well today. Who else took their lemons and made lemonade? As
I recall there's only one system that was "reincarnated" after all else was
shot down and became POWER-side. Ya gotta admire the ol' boy's spunk.

Best Regards,
Steve White

Thanks Dana...

I was laughing not at the guy but with the guy. I totally agree with
him...TOTALLY! Here's a little from the end of the interview.

===========================================================
When the Twin Towers got hit, we went on the air and we collected money to
help. We sent $25,000 cash to the Salvation Army in New York - not the
national, to New York. We did that on the radio.

I don't need digital to do that. It's not going to make my fundraising any
better, it's not going to make my community service any better.

I don't own these radio stations. I own the equipment. I'm a franchise
holder of a license to serve the people of this country. Broadcasters need
to come back to the idea that they're here to serve. If they don't want to
come back to that, I guess they deserve what they get.

Thank God I lived through the era when AM was so important and public
service meant everything, and you actually had to show the commission how
many public service programs you ran.

Well, what can I say. Go to that link Dana Provided and read the interview
(if you haven't already). I guess being in a small community now trying to
buy a small operation I can relate.
