Shelby, you've come to the right place. (You'll have to excuse occasional
Holy RF even here!)

When you say the radio station is 10 miles away, are you speaking of the
studios? They are not often where the broadcasting antenna is located. You
will have to find out where the antenna is located. It may very well be on
the tower you describe. Is the station AM or FM? If AM, the antenna IS the
tower, if FM the antenna is ON the tower.

Has this interference problem just appeared?? If the station has changed
power or antenna configuration within the past year and you are in the
'blanketing contour' (read: close) of the station, they have to cure the
problem for you. If not, the problem is yours to solve. It is unlikely that
the station is broadcasting illegally.

You can do some research on your own. Go to the FCC website and search for
the station to see if they broadcast from a location close to you. You can
also see if they have changed anything recently. For AM:

Here is a link to an article on the subject in Radio Guide Magazine titled
"Is Your Station a Good Neighbor?": http://www.radio-guide.com/RG-FEB-2005.pdf

Let us know what you find. Many of us on this list have faced this problem
from both ends and can be very helpful!
