I believe there was a paper some time ago about the
use of a guy wire as a directional array element.

The typical effect of a slant wire is putting very
slight "dimple" in a circular pattern in the
direction of the slant wire. This is significantly
different from feeding a phased signal to a
slanted guy wire.
