[BC] Power Glitch on Mt. Wilson

If the power is out in those buildings, then is there a separate genny for
the elevators? A jet engine (it's probably a turbine shaft engine) should
run fine on diesel fuel. Jet A, Kerosene, diesel, and heating oil are
almost all the same fuels. Jet A has Prist in it and its to precipitate the
water out of the fuel. You dont want water in Jet fuel when the temp is 40
below zero.

It's grandfathered in from nearly 25 years ago. It's my understanding
they can have 4 drums on the floor of Jet A and have priority on the
elevator when they need to cycle fuel up. I don't know the
consumption rate.
Another station there has 625 gallon day tank to hold it's diesel
fuel. Code doesn't allow for a full sized tank to he housed on any
floor but the ground level or below floors. That day tank is the
biggest day tank I know of. That station is 2nd in line and uses about
40 gallons an hour in a 500KW CAT. So they too need to cycle fuel up
by the drum at a drum every hour or so.
I think the code allows two or three drums to be brought up at a time
with no empties to be stored anywhere but the ground level.
