Wilbur and Orville didn't build an airplane that hurt travel on highways by
cars. This digital radio system hurts the existing analog one.
Look, I'm not against digital radio. Anyone that knows me knows I'm certainly
no Luddite. I'm just against the IMPLIMENTATION of IBOC.
What I'm saying is put it in it's own band! There's PLENTY of spectrum that's
coming available soon thanks to DTV. Channels 2-6 come to mind...
Or..why not (at least) put digital AM in 1700-1800 Khz? It's already allocated
for AM broadcasting internationally.

That's really not the point.
Frank pointed out the possibilities of 5.1
NPR pushed, and we got, secondary channels.
Ibiquity changed the codec.
It's not perfect, but already there IS progress.
