Robert,
That's a recurring cheap shot. Other than store and forward like
the SIRIUS Replay, TIVO and iPod there isn't much beyond a linear
approach to radio. You repeatedly ridicule me without presenting any
options. They're all secret.

OK. Everyone in radio stop thinking linearly. The fact that there
won't be any way to implement whatever wondrous on demand
capabilities for decades to come shouldn't matter. Of course, you've
repeatedly said radio is dead, even with the awesome IBUZ technology,
so I have to assume we're talking apples and oranges. Please give us
a hint how individual broadcasters can do more than linear programming.

If you're talking about non-broadcast technologies, that's a whole
different matter. If it's broadcast, you're going to have to start
bashing the receiver manufacturers, too. They won't make any changes
in IBUZ receivers of any significance until they see some movement in
sales. If I got so much resistance to changing the layered display I
can only imagine how your secret sauces are going to be received.

Since such things as MediaFLO and other cellular/WiFi technologies
are starting from scratch you can let your imagination run wild.
Compare the NAB with the CES. Almost the only constraints on those
technologies will be how to bill for them and where to locate new
towers. I'm assuming that companies like Qualcomm are just chomping
at the bit to serve every tiny town in the nation. We all know there
are no cellular dead spots anywhere in the nation.

Just give us a hint, oh Mighty One. With the technology broadcasters
will have for the next 20 years, how should we think?
