The people who stand to make the most money from this is Ibiquity.
Between the fees for the decoding technology (from the receiver
manufacturers) and the usage fees (from broadcasters) and the fees for
revenue from secondary channels (from broadcasters) they are the only
group (to date) that has seen one freaking penny of revenue from this
albatross (uh I mean system) and the outlook for anyone else to generate
any revenue from it is year on the horizon; making money is at least a
decade away. Why should broadcasters spend valuable time and (even more
valuable) credibility paying lip service to (what is easy for a listener
to conclude) vaporware. How many failed trips to the store to purchase
an HD radio will it take for the consumer to realize it is bullshit;
nothing more than Color Radio or any other clever slogan promising more
than it can deliver! This is the true death of radio!
