 From what I remember when Living  up in that area. you can claim to be 
a member of the Republic ,and not acknowledge the federal govt of the U.S.
 however you must Follow the local laws of the Republic of Vermont.

 I belive thats why this has been drawn out so long.If I remember 
correctly. Vermont State police were required to Escort federal (FCC ) 
agents off of RFB's  land.   the federal agents were tresspassing and 
could have been arrested under  the laws of the Republic of Vermont.
I could be wrong but I think Vermont is the Only state that actually has 
that in the State constitution.
 Thats what you really call freedom,and
Thats what makes this country great   LOL.. you gotta love it.
