[BC] The State Of Radio Today......

This year I'm the "new guy" in town.. after a severe storm the old FM20H2 flames out and is not to be brought back.

That night another engineer at the site (a TV and several FM's combined) assisted me finding and butchering a cable.. we used RG8, hose clamps, and tape to get the exciter patched on to the main antenna to have "something".

The next day, another engineer drove out to the site, with the "right" N to 3 1/8" adaptor, and helped me get that installed up on a ladder. The exciter was much happier - with the cut up cable I could get 12w out. With the right adaptor, of course, full 50w out. 

We ran like that for a week while a new transmitter was shipped in and installed. During the install the fellow who brought me the adaptor poppled in, and gave some advise. 

Earlier, the first few days on the job, a couple of engineers (also hams) came by another site I was having trouble with.
