Substance abuse counselors will tell you the clergy often have
serious alcohol problems. There could have been no more appropriate
end to an era than doing exactly what he did. Had it continued, the
station might have found its ratings skyrocketing and the new format
kicked off with a flair. Or flare, in the case of ignited booze.
That's the problem with our industry today. No sense of humor. I
would have given the guy a raise and a new show.
I sure wish Fr. Guido Sarducci had been in my Parish instead of real
life church ladies.
