I thought everyone knew the term underground radio. Sorry. Well, it's
basically a format that had no structure that was born in San Francisco
during the hippy movement. It played groups like Jefferson Airplane, The
Grateful Dead etc. and anything else you might like to throw in at the
time....say like....the sounds of the ocean. :) Free-form would be another
good description of it. (Now I'm going to get messages that it wasn't
birthed in San Francisco. Ok guys, I'm ready.

Actually, I think that's why my friend is remembered for it. Hey, it was
"in" to be mellow then. :
