Close. The recording (and I looked it up to be sure) was done in 1958!
What's amazing is this is really (although there are stereo recordings from
1954-1956) the year Stereo took off. I remember getting a VM Stereo tape
recorder with Inline (stacked) and Offset (staggerd) heads since some tapes
you could buy came in both formats. I still have the VM demo tape. It's fun
listening. The narration is VERY dramatic and the sound is great given the
year.
