During a BAAAD ice storm in Mississippi, it was apparent that I could
not bear the cold and the workload to keep ice from accumulating on an
old Scientific-Atlanta dish that fed most of the receivers in our cluster.
Bright idea: I rented one of those "barn heaters" - the ones that look
like a jet engine mounted on a fuel tank - and placed it about 4 feet in
front of the dish. Aimed its blast at the lower 1/3 of the dish.
Worked great. We had to refuel it every 4 hours or so.
