If it hasn't been mentioned already, 1660 WJDM diplexed from the 1530 WJDM
tower when it began operation as the nation's first Expanded Band station
in the Fall of 1995. When regular programming began in 1996, they moved
the daytime 10 kW transmissions to a diplex with 1380 WKDM, while the
nighttime 1 kW signal stayed at the 1530 site. Now called WWRU, 1660 now
transmits a 10 kW directional signal, day and night, from the WKDM site.
And although I'm not sure they actually shared a tower, 1630 KCJJ in Iowa
City, IA transmitted from the same site as its parent station, 1560 KCJK.
As I understand it, KCJK was dark at the time it received its Expanded
Band authorization, but new owners rebuilt the station and once 1630 KCJJ
was on the air, they brought the 1560 kHz signal's Gates Vanguard
transmitter back to life for a few years before retiring KCJK for good.
