Glen, I remember when the 1450 had a tower about half way to Indian Wells on
the left side of 111 going toward La Quinta.
I would think that would have been a much better site.
As you know, no AM covers the entire area well. Too much sand.

Ummmm ... you guessed wrong. KWXY-FM is still ranked #4 with a 7.5 12+, and
is probably #1 in 50+, so they are not hurting at all. I merely said: they
could move the studios, which have been co-located with the AM transmitter
since 1964, and continue with the FM operation. But, income from tower
space rentals probably is too profitable for them to do that. Now, KGAM is
another story, as they lease tower usage but have virtually no ratings.
