[BC] Noisy transmitters

I have two new Continental FM transmitters. One is about 2 years old. It has a nice, quiet blower. You can stand in front of the PA cavity and hold a conversation or talk on the phone. 

My "newer" Continental, delivered spring 2005,  has a jet engine as the blower. No kidding. You can't talk to anyone in the room without yelling. I spent a morning after we had installed it, changing the remote out. After two hours, I went to get lunch and realized my ears were ringing badly. Got a set of hearing protectors, and now wear them while in that room.

It stinks, because you can't hear the cell phone, site phone, etc., ring while the muffs are on. But at least it's not damaging my hearing further. 

I griped mightily to Continental (DRS) about this crappy blower. 

Interestingly, the new transmitter panels are RED !
