[BC] dual ferrite AM antenna

We have one of the older Justice antennas (inop). It's two coils wound on
each end of a single ferrite stick about 6" long and amplified with a
transistor amp on a PC board inside the rectangular black box. We also have
the current version. The working current version seem OK but is handicapped
indoors. It's basically an amplified loop stick antenna. I don't know what
the second winding does for it. I talked to C. Crane's tech about repairing
the old one and they no longer support it and have no service data on it
(they say). I asked about service data on the current model and was told
that it's proprietary. So if you get a current model and it goes bad either
they fix it or if they have yet a third version then you're SOL. The system
consists of the loop box/amp, connection cable with a six pin DIN connector
on each end, a control box with tuning controls (DC, course and fine) and a
DC wall wart to power it or use a 9V battery. It also has a cable that runs
from the control box terminated in an RCA connector that can be plugged into
a receiver input or plugged into an included ferrite loop stick to proximity
couple to the built in receiver loop stick. None of the components are
interchangeable between versions except for the loop stick that couples to
the receiver and the multi pin connecting cable. You can buy an optional
25' connecting cable and mount the antenna box outdoors sheltered from the
rain as it's not weather resistant. It's also pretty directional. As for
eliminating fading....Good Luck! I don't think that 6" spacing of the loops
is quite enough for diversity on MW.
