Interesting career.  I think he was in Sacramento, working for Jack  Thayer 
GM.  Thayer went to Cleveland to take over WGAR and brought Imus in  for 
mornings.  What an entertainer.  I visited the station when Jack  Sellmeyer and Bob 
Reymont were there.  I bought Imus's and staff record of  his telephone bits,  
really very clever for the time, over 25 years  ago.
 
Imus went on to WNBC.  Later Thayer came to WNBC as Manager.   Imus remarked, 
I believe it was an R & R Convention,  "you know you  have made it in this 
business when you can bring in your own general  manager..."
