880-660/880 = 25%. Toronto has had the 740/860 diplex (13.95%) for probably
about as long as New York has had the 660/880 diplex. All four stations are
50-kW ND-U, but has CJBC ever discovered... modulation??? There must be many
5 kW AMs (even high up on the dial) that cover better than CJBC
does--because of CJBC's near-total absence of audio. Unless something has
changed, CJBC's average modulation must run around 15%. Someone on this list
once described Toronto's Francophone 860 as North America's least-listened
to Class A AM signal. Given the lack of loudness on 860, I can believe that
that could be the case even if Toronto had a large percentage of French
speakers--which it doesn't.
