Curt was a Wyoming native, born in Green River, raised in Cheyenne, lettered
in basketball and tennis at the University of Wyoming. His first broadcast
(1944) was a six-man football game between a couple of little-bitty schools,
Cheyenne St Marys and Pine Bluffs. There were about 15 other people on the
sidelines, the temp was below zero, and he stood on a milk crate to get a
better view of the game.
For many years, he owned KOWB-AM & KCGY-FM in Laramie, as well as a station
in the Boston area - might've been WLLH (Scott?).
Among many other honors, we put him in the Wyoming Association Of
Broadcaster Hall Of Fame in 2003.
Here in the Big Square Empty State, broadcasters are proud to count him as
one of our own...
