This kind of news (Ford's passing, etc) is where using a simple text crawl is 
sufficient. It's *important* but not dangerous. Running a crawl is 
sufficient, IMHO. A large terrorist attack, tornado, etc, is a different matter 
entirely. Then a full interruption (with details, locations, etc. being given) is 
warranted.
