I'd try Interstate Batteries. Their retail stores supply many cell
phone, camera, and laptop batteries. You can check pricing and
availability on the web.
They will also make a "new" battery from one you bring - not always for
LI's but for things like cell phones, test gear, etc. They can spot-weld
tabs on button batteries, for Amateur radios that use cr232 or similar
as memory retention.
Also, there is always EBAY. Interstate's price for a particular laptop
battery I use is $140. I've Ebay'd new ones for $45 several times. My
current battery was purchased in Feb 05. It lasted 2 hours on install.
Now it runs the laptop 45 minutes, so is about due for a replacement
again. Mainly, I want it to stay running while I move the laptop from
place to place - so 45 minutes is "good enough".
