Paul,

winser.exe would appear to be related to adware.  Google it and you'll
find several links to discussions and suggested removal techniques.

lsass.exe is a normal Win2k and XP process.  It has something to do
with security.  I had the exact same symptom on a PC I built a few
years ago - the 1 minute shutdown you mentioned with lsass.exe as the
warning.  The only way I was able to resolve it was reinstall Windows
(it happened to be 2k).  There may be other ways, but at the time
that's what I had to do.  I think my symptoms were the result of a
corrupt file or registry entry.
