>>I've always wondered why no one ever expected anything important to
happen late at night or on weekends. If I were Iran or North Korea
I'd schedule the first bombing run when no cameras were ready. That
way we could all be wiped away never knowing what hit us. By everyone
I mean everyone on the planet as the retaliatory strikes began. I'd
appreciate at least the 15 minutes notice to cut up my credit cards.<<

Robert Klein used to make jokes about the fact that every day, when
kids in the Bronx went home for lunch, the city would set off a siren at
noon (he never said why they did it). He said the Russians, if they
were smart, would second-guess them and drop the big one at noon ("They
don't know, Ivan, they'll think it's lunch").
