Jon actually hired me at WKHK. He came in from the road as it were. He was a
field installations guy for Mutual. He went around the country installing 3
meter dishes at affiliate locations. He did a stint at WRVR Memphis for a
couple of months when they were in between chiefs. He later moved down to
our Washington, D.C. station WMZQ. He left the company after that. I ran
into him at NAB last April. He is out west doing the contract thing and
seemed to be happy with what he was doing. Jon was and is a bright guy. We
built a new studio complex together when I first got there. We did a lot of
scratch built projects back in those days. We had the budget and the
manpower. Boy have times changed! Jon gave me a shot in NY which turned out
pretty well. I am forever indebted to Jon for the chance he gave me all
those years ago. I spent 20 years down there as a working engineer, director
of engineering and now as a project manager for the Metropolitan Television
Alliance.

Hey Bob:
Yeah, WRVR Memphix became WHRK. I don't remember if it was Viacom or
Adams who sold them to Ragan.
If you were at WKHK in 82 then I think you may have come after, or just
before, my friend Jon Banks as CE. I believe Jon was moved up there
from WRVR Memphis, but I might be wrong.
Small world.
