[BC] Fessenden on the radio - and KFI tower news

Reginald Fessenden got big play on public radio tonight! All Things
Considered had a nice 8-minute piece on the centennial of his (maybe)
first broadcast at the end of its first hour, and Marketplace did a
story as well, tying Fessenden's early work into the subsequent
development of music radio.

Here's the NPR story:

And here's Marketplace:

But wait - it gets better! I happened to listen to both shows on the
stream from KPCC in Pasadena, and their lead news item on their 4 PM
newscast was that the planning board in La Mirada, California has
unanimously approved the reconstruction of the KFI tower.

I suspect there are still a few more layers of appeals to go
through...but that sure sounds like a sweet (and well-deserved) holiday
present to Tony Dinkel, John Paoli and the rest of the crew at KFI.

A very happy and meaningful holiday (of whatever type you prefer) to all
of you on the list...
