He did indeed! I modeled my console (that I use to this day) after one he
had built by his studio engineer who was a moonlighter from Ampex.
He designed it for production. The guts of my board are Opamps but the look
is retro. His main studio on Claude Lane was designed and built by an
engineer from KQED-TV if I remember. That too was a work of art. Even if I
was a 17 year old board op I loved those days at KSFR. Learned a lot from
that "madman". I was surrounded by great classical music announcers.
