The folks that brought you Total Recorder also have an app that deletes
files over a preset age (Out-Of-Date Monitor) - We've been running all 6
of our stations through TR and letting the out-of-date monitor delete
the files after 7 days (to the hour!). If you want mp3 you'll have to
install LAME to encode the mp3 format.
It also has a nice auto file naming system.
The real nice feature of TR is the fact that it'll run on nearly
anything that runs windoze (I initially tested it on a Toshiba Satellite
Pro 410CDT P1, 24MB RAM, 810MB HDD - it ran fine and the laptop is now
used as a portable monitor recorder). We have all six running on 1
machine and it has been real stable (no software problems at all).
Hardware $2300, software $30, the results priceless
