OK -- do you need to monitor AM, FM, or TV? What is the signal strength of
the stations you need to monitor? Do you need an external antenna? At KWXY
(if you're dyslexic, YXWK), we use Radio Shack 12-456. They are adequate to
pick up our local LP-1 and LP-2. The RS "Long-Range Portable" is another
that I have used. The Sage receivers are good but pricey. I agree about
the Burk EAS. I like it a lot more than the Sage ENDEC or the TFT 911
series. But, I think "cheap" and "rack-mountable" ought not to be used in
the same sentence, unless it also includes the words "rack shelf."
