[BC] Iowa legend passes away

Bill Riley, a legend in Iowa broadcasting and the Iowa State
Fair, passed away last night in Scottsdale, AZ. He was 86, and
had been fighting leukemia.

Mr. Riley began with KRNT Radio in Des Moines in 1943, and KRNT
Television (now KCCI) in 1955. He created the Iowa State Fair
statewide talent search. Although he turned over the hosting
duties to his son about 10 years ago, he was still there every
year, including this year.
