[BC] Cool Edit Pro 2.0 'warble'

I would like to try a guess at this; it does not cost you anything to
try it out.

It may be that your video card is using part of your RAM and the
resources are not adequate to update the video and perform the
requirements of the Cool Edit too. Try turning off the hardware
acceration in the Display Properties; in XP it can be found in the
Dsiplay Properties/Advanced/Troubleshoot/. There will be a horizontal
throttle that can be set between None and Full. Set it to None.

I had a similar problem with Audition 2.0 on a 1.5 GHz and 512MB ram.
We upgraded to an E6600 and 2GB ram and still had the problem to a
lesser degree. Throttling back the Hardware Acceleration ended that
problem.

Will do that - warbles with network cable unplugged.

There is a 2 computer LAN (this and the other PROD room). I meant, to
clarify, that these two computers talk to each other, and that's it.
They are isolated from everything else in the building.

Funny thing is, under 98, it worked fine. 2k was installed, in advance

of placing this computer on the building business LAN and have it able

to reach the internet. An identical PC (literally - same everything)
was
changed from 98 to 2k, with no issues - the PC in the other PROD
room.

Neither computer had any virus, or ad-ware/malware, that I can find.
