Let's see you explain that to the FCC. Something illegal happens for 
a long period of time (longer than it takes an operator or engineer 
to get to the transmitter or a functioning control point). No one is 
listening. There are no alarms to warn of illegal operation. "It's 
not our fault - no one was at the controls" isn't going to get you 
very far. Your obligation is to make sure the station operates 
legally or shut it down until you can. I don't believe they care how 
many stations you may be responsible for. If you can't handle 8 
stations, it's the licensee's responsibility to change/increase the 
staffing to make sure they're operating properly.
