I guess the point is that local stations do not program to the traveler.
They program to the local audience. Of course you will hear the same songs
as you drive through towns. The local people dont care if a station 150
miles away is playing the same songs. I guess I dont the point behind
this. Station will play the music that is most popular or will draw the
biggest audience. (Unless of course you are in the moutains of North
Carolina where yet get blue grass from stations like WPAQ).
Personally I dont listen to much music other than what I have on CD or mini
disk. I mainly listen to talk radio. And then if I am interested in a
national talk program, I would want a bunch of stations to be running the
program as I travel.
