Not necessarily.  Microsoft bought out the HDCD standard and put HDCD
decoding into every copy of Windows Media Player... and look what that has
done for the popularity and awareness of HDCD!  Everyone has it, but no
one knows or cares about it -- just like how HD Radio will end up if
iBiquity eventually gets its way.
