Shop early. Make reservations, get with them for special deals and
there are a lot better prices. Check with your travel agents about package
deals for hotel and air fare. If you need something as fancy as the
Bellagio, Venetian, MGM Grand etc. expect to pay for it. The two hotels in
jean and two in Primm are a lot cheaper and are only about a half hour to 45
minute drive from the convention center. It takes me almost that long from
my house on the east side over near Sam's town. Some of the better hotels
on the Boulder strip such as Sam's town, Boulder Station, Arizona Charlie's
East, Nevada landing, and the budget suites types of places are very
reasonable. You can save enough to pay for a car rental by going a little
farther out. Some of the downtown hotels are pretty good and quite
reasonable. Often going a little off the strip gives great results. Don't
sell short some of the smaller places. We have the usual Motel 6's, budget
hotels, easy 8's etc. There are some real flea bags as well out on Fremont
street east of the strip, but some are pretty decent. Hint, If you like to
help pay my NV taxes with your donations at the gaming tables, the casinos
on the boulder strip and downtown have better odds according to a study made
a few years ago.
Try some of the web sites that a Google of Ls Vegas will give you
and you'll find some very good prices.
