Actually changing the calls often makes a lot of sense. There are 
people who would kill for WNYC, KCMO and others that identify their 
locations at a glance. If I were on Oklahoma City I'd grab KOKC. It's 
much easier to promote than KOMA (coma).

Heritage means nothing, anymore. Re-imaging a station with bad 
programming never works. As we've seen repeatedly, once an AM station 
loses its audience it'll almost never get it back.
