As to AC/DC sets. We need more of them using less plastic.  I seem to recall
an appropriate quotation, " it will help to deplete the surplus
poplulation".

And as to turning the carrier off, a simple 24 hour timer plugged in the
wall would work wonders if hooked to the fail safe part of the an old line
driven
Remote control system, or to the interlock or plate overload line on a
transmitter.  There is no excuse to be lazy.  It just adds to the surplus
population and the way to get rid of that can be found by reading the above.
