I've seen the 11 Kv signs as far as New Haven. I've been told that 
Metro North can't go beyond New Haven because of the power 
differences. Has that changed? There's a rumor in Western MA that 
they're going to electrify the Northern spur and run commuter trains 
as far North as Hartford and, possibly Springfield, MA. Now they have 
to change engines at New Haven. The Boston end of the line was 
electrified some years ago. There's also a rumor that they're 
thinking of electrifying the Boston-Springfield line and running 
commuter service between Boston and Springfield. Boston is getting 
nearly as expensive as New York, so commuters are moving father and 
farther West.
