Gary, I know what you mean. But they need to know how we got here.
Before the hook comes out, let me say we have an obligation to teach the
newbees an appreciation for what has gone before.
Tubes. One of the guys (22) in my office had no idea what a tube was. I
brought in an old Crosley 5'er and showed him. He was amazed. He was
impressed with the cool looks of the radio, but more, he gained a feel
for how the technolgy had progressed. An opened door to a formerly
closed mind.......we have a responsibility to "make them last" and to
share our knowledge and our enthusiasm.
