My Accurian arrived yesterday. I am right pleased with it. My shop is in the middle of an 'RF Bermuda Triangle' being surrounded closely by three VHF TV stations and maybe 10 FM 'Bs'. Ewww ... even my Superradio has a problem with frontend overload.
I was running a Fanfare receiver last week for a translator I am installing. Needless to say the Fanfare performed wonderfully.
However, the Accurian on the 'T' FM antenna does not overload and receives even 'troublesome' signals cleanly. WGUC on 90.9 is close but shadowed by Mt. Auburn where I am in Cincinnati. Multipath city. WGUC's HD1 and HD2 signals are 'no problem' demonstrating the value of HD under these circumstances.
Even the Fanfare has 'up' and 'down' tuning buttons just like the Accurian. Rather than tone controls there are a few 'DSP' presets for 'rock', 'jazz', 'classical', 'flat', etc. I prefer the 'classical' (public radio snob that I am).
I do not see any setting for 'analog only'. Perhaps I am missing it. One of the stations I am recently responsible for (this week) has a second or so delay variance. Very annoying. All of us will have to pay attention to this.
