But, of course, the digital data is sent using analog techniques. For DTV,
it's pulses varying amplitudes where each amplitude represents a certain
bit combination. It's Ancient Modulation. For CATV, it's often QAM, which
is just two Ancient Modulation carriers in quadrature with discrete
amplitudes instead of continuously varying amplitudes...
