What is surprising is that

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Federation_of_Great_Towers

shows China's own Oriental Pearl Tower in Shanghai at 1535 feet, and they
don't mention it.

I checked the FCC database and found KXTV Sacramento at 613 m AGL, that's
2,011 feet. I haven't had time to check the coordinates on Google Earth,
but that must be one of the ones at Walnut Grove, between Sacramento and
Stockton. ISTR a 1600-footer there in 1964, and I believe it is still
there.
