[AF] 98% isn't good enough? (was: Home is not a choice)

I have been reading this thread for over a week and since I am an “elder,” 63 years of age, I have decided to throw in my two cents.

As I see it, this discussion is fruitless because both gays, straights, and every variation in between, with every religious organization, have an agenda. Organized gays often claim that they are “special” in some sort of way; organized religions often claim “an abomination” and many people make money from separating gays from straights. The religious “right” attracts funds from those whom they contend are sinners, often by perpetuating guilt. Follow the money. If there were not special labels, then psychiatrists, psychologists, gay-bar owners, and others who make money from homosexuals, would cease to exist. It is all about perpetuating guilt.

Some basic truths need to be recognized in any intelligent discussion about sex. The first truth being, that sexuality is all about the propagation of the species. If you were a “spider on the wall,” looking at copulation amongst animals including humans, you might wonder how such an ugly thing could be caused to occur. The answer being that the sex act was made enjoyable. Otherwise, it would not happen. Since it is enjoyable, society a long time ago started regulating it based upon the idea that anything that is “fun” needs to be controlled. Otherwise, multiple religions teach, one would become gluttonous, abandoning everything else but sex. Nevertheless, in the 20s or 30s, many societies started to allow sex for fun as they started to liberalize their ideas about human sexuality. The sexual revolution didn’t really happen in the sixties; it just accelerated at that time. However, society has never been comfortable with human sexuality! Society’s leaders have always tried t!

ate it. Therefore, sex for fun was deemed okay, but only in the “missionary position” amongst adults of the opposite sex. Any other kinds of sexual contact was banned, especially any between persons of the same sex. This is done, really, to propagate guilt probably because the regulating adults were made to feel guilty about their own sexual activity as children.

Most adolescent children start maturing sexually long before they become interested in the opposite sex. They often experiment amongst themselves. There is hardly a woman who as a budding teenager did not want to see and perhaps even touch the breast of a girlfriend who was starting to mature before she was. The same thing happens amongst boys. The one who is first able to obtain an erection is often admired and manipulated by others. This is part of the metamorphous of maturing. However, many people believe that if this activity is allowed to continue, the persons doing it will “turn queer.” Therefore, most parents who detect this activity will attempt to impart guilt to the perpetrators.
 
Normally, as adolescents continue to mature, they start to obtain a sexual interest in the opposite sex. Even the Bible states about giving up childish things upon becoming a “man,” perhaps to allay fears that parents may have imparted to their children. It is likely that homosexuals are simply persons who failed to mature. They are the result of an incomplete metamorphous. However, hardly any homosexuals with whom I have discussed this would ever allow themselves to be considered not perfectly normal and in some cases special. Their agenda precludes a rational discussion of the reasons why they might be different from the majority. Even on this list, I read that ten percent of the special “gifted” persons are set aside so they won’t have to be bothered raising children. It is quite nice to consider one self one of God’s chosen persons because you are a homosexual. That is just as bad as those Bible thumping merchants of guilt who claim that homosexuality is an abomination.

Of course the idea that homosexuality is simply the result of truncated sexual development will never fly amongst psychologist or psychiatrists either because, if the guilt imparted by well-meaning parents and peers were to be removed, there would be many doctors changing jobs. Again, follow the money. Many years ago, I attempted to collaborate on a girlfriend’s Masters Thesis which attempted to establish the “incomplete metamorphous” theory. She was not allowed to continue. She was even forced to change the topic of her thesis. Even universities have a financial stake in keeping homosexuals apart. Follow the money.
