Sexual orientation goes hand in hand (no pun intended) with handedness.
About half a century ago, we finally figured out that instead of forcing
left-handed children to become right-handed, it is better to accept and
accomodate their difference. The sooner we come to the same determination
about sexual orientation, the less stress and suffering there will be for
all of us.

And perhaps there is some validity to the theory that God, or whichever
higher power you choose to worship, intended for 10% of the population to
not be inclined to reproduce. That way, the most gifted among us will not
be burdened with children. :-)
