Motorola still makes low-band radios, but they seem to have a lower 
limit of 29.5 MHz - the HT750 handhelds and the CDM1250 mobile.

I wonder, if asked, whether Thompson would or could include an analog FM 
exciter/modulator for the TSW 26-300.  Doesn't solve the mobile / 
portable need, though.

Maybe a modified amateur 10-m FM rig?

Dunno....
