Richard, what do you know about Richardson selling to TTC (Television 
Technology Corp in Denver)?

I believe I bought the only 10K FM that TTC ever sold.  It was a 
beautifully designed instrument but I could barely get 8,000 watts on a 
good day.  It had a little 250 watt driver tube feeding the hot grid in 
a 10kw tube tetrode.

The soft start was the length of time it took one relay to daisychain to 
the "big" relay.  That was a no frills design but worked ok (3phase in 
this case)
