Richard, you took the words right out of my fingers!  I remember a time 
when (another engineer on this list) and I were on top of a mountain 
outside Erwin, Tenn. driving the station truck and after we did whatever 
it was we had to do (that I do not remember) the battery in the truck 
was dead.  An eternity passed before someone came to help.  It was cold 
but not that cold and we could not find enough parts to build a large 
enough 12V supply to charge the battery.  A battery charger with enough 
capability to provide a jump is a really good idea.
Also, a set of transmitter and vehicle keys hidden outside the 
building.  Locking your keys in your vehicle can be dangerous when it is 
so bitterly cold.
