[BC] Anybody handle WLLH?

Last Sunday, when I heard that Ed McMahon was rushed to the hospital, I punched up WLLH, 1400 kHz, on my truck radio. This was the station where Ed got his start. It is also a station that has (or had) two synchronized transmitters. I was in the Leominister at the time, and heard a quiet, unmodulated carrier on 1400 kHz. I listened later when passing Lawrence on I-495, same thing, no modulation. Last night I decided to check again. Again, there was an unmodulated carrier on 1400 kHz.

I tried to contact the station --it seems they have no published address, so I wrote Email to ESPN. I still have no response. Apparently, this station has gone the way of many other AM stations and is simply a RCO (remove communications outlet) for a network, with nobody around. Perhaps their remote-control failed and they were supposed to be off-the-air in the nighttime??? I don't know. If anybody is handling this station, please check into this problem.

Cheers,
Richard B. Johnson
