[BC] KFEQ loses Tower to Farmer

Eagle Radio's Talk KFEQ-AM/St. Joseph, MO's transmission tower was 
downed Tuesday (6-16) by a farmer mowing hay that accidentally that 
snagged one of its guy wires. The tower, one of four that creates a 
directional pattern, is located close to U.S. Highway 71, but the 
farmer was the only person at the scene and was not injured.

VP Mark Vail said the farmer brought down the tower near Hays, KS, at 
about 7:10pm and that KFEQ will be sending an emergency request 
authorization to the FCC to operate at reduced power. The station's 
daytime pattern is not affected.
