Congrats.  Never regretted becoming a ham.  I've been licensed since 1965.
Still have fun with it.  Go right for the extra.  Anyone working as a BC
engineer should find today's extra like falling off a log.  Mostly you need
to brush up on rules and regs.  The tech stuff is easy, even for the extra.
The test has been really dumbed down.
